Registration is open for Hill College Continuing Education’s (CE) first set of summer courses, which begin June 21.

Hill College’s CE courses allow individuals to advance their professional skills in shorter periods of time and at affordable prices.

“We offer fast-track classes that allow interested individuals to take a regular continuing education class in as little as one day or participate in more in-depth programs that offer certifications like our health career program, which can be completed in less than six months,” said Hill College’s CE executive director Tammy Logan.

Courses beginning June 21 include phlebotomy technician, nurse aid, Excel, QuickBooks, Word and Introduction to Computer Systems. Pharmacy technician courses begin July 26, and medical assistant program and medical coding and billing program courses begin July 27.

“Our course offerings provide the necessary skills for a student to advance in his or her career,” said Logan. “At the end of each course, students will receive a certificate of completion that can be added to their resume. With changes in healthcare, students who are working in certain fields, such as nurse aids, can take the certification exam to become a Certified Nurse Aide after completing Hill College’s nurse aid program. We partner with local businesses through our health career classes to offer clinicals. This allows students to finish the specific program at a local business where he or she is receiving relevant training.”

Visit www.hillcollege.edu/ce to view the full course schedule and to download the CE registration form, which students are required to complete prior to enrolling in courses.

Hill College maintains an open admissions policy ensuring that all persons benefit from postsecondary education and have an opportunity to enroll. However, when applicable, courses may have additional registration requirements that need to be met in order to comply with a certifying agency or a funding source.

Registration may be completed in-person by visiting the Johnson County Campus at 2112 Mayfield Pkwy., Cleburne, Room 116 of the Administration Building, or by visiting the Hill County Campus at 112 Lamar Dr., Hillsboro, Administration Building. Payment is due at time of registration.
